Surf Dancer

Surf Dancer is a cosmic synth warrior who surfs the waves of spacetime in perpetual 80s disco madness. He grew up listening to kitschy eurodisco and wore a mullet way after it had been cool. His music draws inspiration from a wide spectrum of styles ranging from italo disco to new wave and oddball synthpop. In his live act he steadily pushes the limits and tries to find out what comes after you turn things up to eleven.

DJ Unisex

DJ Unisex is an interdisciplinary DJ, Producer and Label Chief originating from Dessau (Germany). After international performances in Mexico, Switzerland and the Netherlands he released music on several labels, such as Distritio 91, P.A.C. Recs, Get Busy and Voragine. While his production style is heavily influenced by the sound of Old-School Electro and Dutch Westcoast synthesizer experiments, his DJ sets combine it all with a hefty preference for harsh Acid Lines and catchy synth rhythms.
Since 2020 he is co-running the record label Self Learning System.

Friedrich Ernst

Friedrich Ernst, born and raised in Dresden, Germany, received extensive musical education through the vibrant music scene there. He began to overcome the gamer boy era with a passion for electronic music and synth toys back in 2017. After exploring the first hardware machines, he started producing and releasing music while slowly learning the treasures of vinyl records and mixing. A new chapter began with his move to Leipzig, where he met DJ Unisex from Dessau in 2020. They share the same vision of timeless electro music and a remarkable old-school style. Drawing from Friedrich's experience, they established the "Self Learning System" label to release music and host events. Since then, attention has been increasing, and Friedrich has refined his signature style by absorbing the vibe of modern electro and breakbeat essentials. As the label owner, he delves deep into the electronic world, connecting dots internationally among artists and labels. Gradually moving away from being a DJ, he is currently focusing on productions and live performances. In the past he left his musical footprint in some local institutions like Institut fuer Zukunft or objektkleina. He released tracks on labels like F.T.P., Defrostatica, Dalmata Daniel, Mind Controlled Rectifier, Earful of Wax and more. Anticipate intriguing output in 2024, including a banging Solo EP on SNC Recs. featuring classic electro, accompanied by top-notch remixes from DJ Mell G & Viikatory. The future shines bright and electrified.

After almost one year of party hiatus we’re back at Neue Welle for a big one. Setting up the booth in style with lots of synthesizers and turntables bringing some real vibe to the floor. Two live acts, two DJs — just like it should be. It all starts with 120 mins of discjockey action by Friedrich Ernst warming up the club in discoid fashion. Expect some serious 80s funk when Surf Dancer picks up the Mic, known for his Rainbow Man EP released on Bordello A Parigi - also working under the alias Acid Hausmeister - he surely will deliver some live Synth Pop and Italo freakness. Afterwards Ida Bux takes over programming a modular live set, seamlessly blending different genres of electronic music as you can hear on her contribution to the Acid Reflux EP on Uncanny Valley. Rounding up the night and closing down the floor is the task of DJ Unisex: prepare yourself for some proper 303’s and beating drum rhythms — Chicago warehouse style! ——— Doors: 23:00
