Young Shields

Luz1e

Eclecticism is the keyword when it comes to the musical taste of LUZ1E. Based on her love of harsh drums, weird bleeps and bouncy basslines, she interweaves dark Electro with complex Breaks, Bass, Techno and the occasional dreamy bop.

Born and raised in Frankfurt she quickly developed a keen interest in electronic music when her brother introduced her to early House music. Inspired by the dance sound of Detroit, Chicago, New York and the UK she translates diverse sonic influences into her sets and productions released under labels such as Lobster Theremin, Shall not Fade, International Chrome and Voitax, which build a bridge between classic tunes and new sounds combining them into a notion of futuretroism.

Bobbie*

BOBBIE* is a Resident DJ at PAL, Hamburg and a regular host of her event series ACID TEARS at Hamburg’s beloved Pudel Club.

Her sound takes you on a journey through the depth of underground machine funk guided by sinister soundscapes, chirping 303 modulations and diverse drum programming. An avid and open minded music lover, her sets richochett through acid, electro, techno, wave and industrial, the common thread a certain relentless darkness, tempered which dissolves into warm melodic interludes.

BOBBIE* was born in Romania into a Hungarian family, but grew up in Cologne, exploring at a young age its vibrant, turn-of-the millenium club scene. When she moved to Hamburg in 2003 she became even more motivated to pursue DJing, partially spurred by the lack of women playing in clubs. Over the next decade she honed her chops, and when PAL opened in 2014 she immediately became a resident.

Ever since she started the ACID TEARS nights with longtime friend Levente Pavelka, guests as TV.Out, Elena Colombi, Betonkust and Marlene Stark were invited to play at Hamburg’s favorite shed Golden Pudel Club.

FAQ

Growing up in the southwest of Germany, FAQ started early to deal with music of different genres. After being part of the screamo band “Danse Macabre” he discovered his passion for electronic music and DJ-ing.

Originally an accomplished selector for Chicago and deep house, he has turned to more raw and gritty sounds like electro and EBM during his long residency at IFZ. All these influences can be discovered in his newest project: the party, podcast series and radio show called “disposable time” together with Alice in Flames.

On top of that it should be mentioned that FAQ’s enterprising spirit within the subcultural scene can be traced back to the co-founding of the “Young Shields” collective, which has now been in existence for nine years.
