Fafi Abdel Nour

The Syrian born and Groningen-based Fafi Abdel Nour has been a steady house-hold name at OOST. Next to holding down the fort in OOST as a resident, he is co-founder of the queer night HOMOOST. The night that became known for breaking down barriers with a colourful approach up there in the North.

Sound-wise, Fafi Abdel Nour doesn’t adhere to all the waves of electronic music and no we don’t do cliché’s. Instead, you can find him pushing a sound undetermined and in no way restrained, as it is unmistakably refreshing and decided. Deep and organic but accompanied by dramatic melodies, Italian rarities, disco and beyond.

With a stand-out set at De School just recently, Fafi Abdel Nour has been quickly carving his way to the top, putting Groningen on the map as well as being part of that new generation busy names on the national circuit.

goldie

goldie is at home on the dancefloors and behind the bars of Dresden. For two years now, she has been mixing tracks as well as drinks and dancing behind the decks. Her housy sound fills the raw club air with energy and embraces the crowd with a mix of groovy and softer, more subtle tracks. The mystical sets have earned her a residency at objekt klein a. From there, her groove spreads like wildfire, but never strays from goldies very own path.

AGY3NA

AGY3NA’s music transports its own vibe, which is difficult to capture with words. He experiments cross-genre somewhere between house and electro, always with a touch of wavy 80s sound, percussion elements and spacey acid. In doing so, AGY3NA manages to produce a coherent overall picture seemingly effortlessly, despite the obviously diverse influences on his music. Afrofuturism as an aesthetic and musical form of expression plays a guiding role: as diverse and experimental as his sets are, for him music is closely linked to his own identity, which he is constantly forced to sort out as a queer, black person. Thus, he sees in music a chance to connect these parts, from which a unique narrative is formed. Born in Nuremberg, the 27-year-old lived for a while in Berlin, currently in Leipzig and is part of the Pulsår collective.
